One of A Kind

This is a mutant cardinal. We think it is a female and she frequents our feeders but does not appear to have a mate. This is a fairly common occurrence in birds in which the are missing some genes which make their feathers a standard color. This year there was found in Missouri and even rarer variety with a male cardinal who is canary yellow throughout.
