Hidden in Plain Sight

As I've watched the birds over the last several years, I've noticed that sometimes, unless they move and rustle the bushes or undergrowth, they are all but invisible. The female Northern Cardinal's bright orange "highlights" (if you will) would seem to stand out, but, in fact, allow it to fade in with nature's woodland colors of brown leaf tips, red berries and other similar camouflage.
